ive been waiting for the new bon iver record since the moment i first heard ‘for emma forever ago’. my heart was shaken and stunned from the minute i heard his voice on re:stacks. by far the most moving record i had ever heard. and the new album threw me back there all over again on monday when it came out. im pretty convinced its my record of the year already. you know when someones life flashes before their eyes in a film, and every memory flashes before their eyes. it happens when you listen to him sing, but you survive it! please listen if you havent already. so so special! the soundtrack to my heart – Bon Iver xx
Hello! As I’m sure most of you know i had to cancel over half of my US tour a couple weeks back. it was a devastating decision to make, but i really had no choice. i had to give my voice 2 weeks rest or risk permanent damage. I’m so so sorry. we are in the middle of rescheduling it all and i will see you there when i return. once all the new dates are in place ill let you know straight away! i was having the best time ever on tour, i enjoyed the shows so much and met so many amazing people and got to play with the best artists Ive ever played along side with, and i really am gutted to be back before its finished. thank you though to everyone who came to the shows i was able to do! I’m at home now, watching box sets and sorting things out into neat piles and resting. i haven’t been able to cook for almost 3 months cause Ive been on the road so I’m getting back into that. Ive become obsessed with beyonces i am sasha fierce tour dvd and 30 rock, and Ive also started uploading over 1000 cds to my itunes! long but satisfying! i cant wait to be able to sing again, I’m bored stiff. ive had a check up and im on the mend, i still need to take it easy and rest but things are looking up. i havent been told to not sing or talk for a month, i have given up smoking again! and also im not having singing lessons. i got better before and im getting better this time, and i will do everything i can to make sure nothing like this happens again! im gonna be on stage in london in just under 2 weeks but its a surprise i think!? xx

I’ve been told to cancel tonights show in Minneapolis because my voice
has gone. I hate to cancel especially at such short notice. I am
truly devastated, I’m here in the city and tried to do soundcheck
at the venue but if I push through it tonight, it’ll take me longer to
get better and more shows may need cancelling. Please forgive me!
We have rescheduled for June 22nd and all tickets will be honoured.

Hello, I’m in Boston enjoying a glass of wine and looking at a woman trying to control her dogs opposite my hotel! getting back into the motion of touring after a 2 week break of parks, pubs and bbqs. thank you to everyone who came to the European and UK shows, meant a lot! I’m in the states for a while now, have had too much fun so far. LA, Washington and Philly ticked off but so many more to go. by the way i got the poster with all my song names listed in a beautiful letter from the show at the electric factory, thank you so much to you lot who made it. made me smile hard!! i thought i was going to be incredibly homesick as soon as i got here, but you’ve all made me feel so welcome so far, thank you :) and how incredible to arrive as rolling in the deep goes to number 1 on the hot 100!!!!!! nuts! anyway, i have the complete honour of having a band called The Civil Wars on the tour at the moment. they are by far the BEST live band i have EVER seen. they are magical and stunning, they make my heart hurt but make it a bit stronger at the same time too! perfect timing! please check them out, they re record is beautiful. and if your coming to any of the shows on this trip make sure you get there early to see them. Ive never been so blown away. i could go on gushing forever…poison and wine is my favourite so Ive attached the video for you! love always xx
