How to post photos/videos

We have a lot of new daydreamers here that want to know how to post pics,so:

If you want to put a picture as a signature go to:
User control panel -> Profile -> Edit signature -> Img and put your link of the pic between
Now, the link of the pic:
If your pic is already somewhere on the internet uploaded, right click on it and click on Copy image URL, and then paste between
If you have it on your computer, you have to uploaded on a website like flickr, imageshack etc. I use http://imageshack.us/, you dont have to make an account to upload a pic there. And after you uploaded, click on the pic first, then right click on it and click on Copy image URL, and then paste between

If you just want to post a pic, but not as a signature,
just go in your post and press Img and again, put the link of the pic there.



and for imageshack:


Also, if you want to post a video from youtube, , go to the youtube box and post the link there.
Make sure the link is like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ri7-vnrJD3k&ob=av2n
and not like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAc83CF8 ... ure=relmfu
If it is like the last one, remove all the things that are after the "&" (Kendra taught me this :) ), like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAc83CF8Ejk
This goes for every link. So no matter how you're link looks like, in order for it to appear here, just remove all the things after &.

This is how a wrong link looks like

Suggestion:

Make this one a sticky.

Better yet: create a third subforum.

In it place all related topics concerning forum rules, how to etc.

One also has then a perfect place to ask questions to the board administrator about any other technical difficulties one might experience. It's also a place where the board administrator could ask input on what this board for instance should have in the opinion of the forummembers.

No proper internetboard goes without it.

can this only be done from a computer? (right click mouse) not from iPad? Also can not be done from photos? P.S. I do not how to put quotes in. But remember I am a computer idiot.

I don't know of a way to post a photo from an iPad's photo library. But, to post a picture you find online using an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, press and hold on the picture until a small menu comes up. One of the options that shows up should be something like "open in new tab/page". If that option is available, click it. Then, go to the new tab that was just created and copy the address from the box at the top of the page (it should end in .jpg, .gif, etc.). This is the image address you need.

However, sometimes the menu only gives you the option to copy or save the picture. If this happens, click copy. Then, open a new tab and paste it into the address box at the top of the page. An address ending in .jpg, .gif or similar should appear. Copy this, it is the image address.

After you have gotten the image address in either of these ways, simply press the "Img" button in the row of options you see when writing a post and paste it in between the two middle brackets.

I find the photo function on this thing to be frustrating no matter what I try to do with it. But I'll give your suggestions a try. I think the photo function on the iPod touch may be better than on the iPad so maybe that will work better.
