This is a place to talk about everything Adele.

What we do not know about this interview, is the behind the scenes negotiations that took place to make it happen.Adele just doesn't appear for anyone, anytime. The interview was brief, and stuck to very general non specific questions.I'm quite sure this was not accidental,if NBC wanted Adele it was going to be on her terms.I'm not coming to Lauer's defense but the questions that he would have been able to ask were limited.Normally a one hour interview would give the interviewer ample opportunity to delve into the interviewee's life deeper,so I believe Lauer's hands were handcuffed. My point of view on this is; way to Delly!Adele had at least 30 mins RAFH, vidoe played in prime time,in the U.S and Canada, not to shabby for our 24 year songstress.Adele did it her way.....BRILLIANT!

Anderson Cooper always asks short questions in interviews, and let's the interviewee do most of the talking. Lauer talked too much and asked boring questions too. Adele obviously related better to Cooper and was more open with him. Adele is the ultimate great interview, and Lauer should have just let her "motor mouth" run, and stand to the side without all his ingratiating comments. Ellen would have done much better as would many of the DJ's that have interviewed her on air, and made Adele more comfortable to talk openly.

Nevertheless, it was a great video commercial for Adele that introduced any comatose music fans to the magic of 21.

The trailer seemed more exciting, to be honest.
I do think that the interview's not that bad. I mean, Delly did say that she wasn't going to be 'that honest' anymore, so I think it's fine. And yes, I think he's boring and all, but it's great to see our queen again!

From what I've been reading the interview was no big deal, but I see it anyway, it really excites me is to see ADELE, so I want to know if it is somewhere online to view it, somewhere that not "You Tube" because I can not get there.
So anyone know?

just seen a glimpse of the interview and that Matt Lauer seems like he likes to play asked-and-answered game.
the interview topics may have been limited but that doesn't mean the conversation couldn't be interesting.
there are loads of light&breezy questions he could've asked to make Princess A smile and get in the zone.
with all do respect, the questions were a bit....*yawn*.

I tried to be detached, as if I hadn't a clue about anything Adele. This interview showed her more reserved than I've ever seen her. One of her big draws is her incredible personality, which wasn't much on display last night.
What was left was another reserved star watching everything she says and an interviewer who didn't draw her out. Great. I understand why it happens. It just sucks. I almost wish 21 hadn't blown up so big.
And forgive me for saying this but RAH has never been her best vocal performance (and I've watched it at least 50 times). She cancelled the whole tour just days later and scheduled surgery.
I wish Live on Letterman would have been the show to air (which happened on a different station so no chance of that).

I'm sounding like a real bitch right now, sorry. Just for the last interview of the era, it blew. No huge cackle, no cursing (hardly), no letting loose with funny shit about this past year. Has there ever been a more tumultuous year in a music career? F*. Where was all that stuff? They touched on it for a second and moved on.

I've got concert hangover from yesterday, then stayed up late to watch that interview. Damn it. Thanks for letting me vent.

And 21 is still only #2 on Itunes after that exposure last night. Any one of us here could have done a better job in that interview. Like where does she go from here? That would have been cool to ask. Or, can you tell us a little bit about the new song coming out? I know, how about you sing a few bars of that new song coming out? Or, what do you think of this little party the Queens throwing? You showing up to that? How's the writing going on that new album? Maybe next year for a drop date? At least put her in a position to drop a few hints.
None of those questions are too intrusive personally. Come on man!

The interview was too serious, but the fact of seeing Adele changes everything and you forget. All I wanted was to hear her sing and laugh. Anyway hoping for something more comprehensive, but hey, that's something.

you daydreamers are all so funny. This is the most animated I have ever seen Matt Lauer. Thats just who he is. And yes he is very smitten with her, in fact I think he wishes he was a bit younger if you know what I mean.
I preferred Anderson Cooper as well, but then Anderson is truely a remarkable human being coming from a wealthy, influencial family, the Vanderbilts, following in the footsteps of his mother who has overcome so many personal tragedies and persevered to become an icon of her own making.

I also would have liked more talking with Adele, fewer commercials. The best moment when our Adele shown thru was her story of walking thru TS with pajamas, pink pumps, huge umbrella and green coat. If I had been so lucky to be there that day I would have passed by her, giving her a thumbs up while going on my way, never to intrude on her privacy, just thrilled to have a glimpse of her.

Shadesofblack I agree about her reservation. I just hate to think that fame is taking away her freedom to be herself but with Matt Lauer as the interviewer I don't think she felt comfortable enough. Matt Lauer is well known for confrontational type of interviewing and most people are on guard with him and I am sure she had been forwarned. Any one of the women on the Today program would have been better but they don't carry the clout of Matt Lauer.

If the only requirement was clout, Barbara Walters would have done better!

I agree. I wonder how much of it is Lauer (who I don't know), how much it's Adele's doing. She is quite capable of taking over an interview and leading it in a different direction or just adding things she wasnt' asked about if that's what she would want to do.

And who was choosing the "scenography"? It was a set up for something much more formal than the interview by Anderson Cooper.

I've not seen the whole interview, only the cut fragments, and one thing I really don't like about it is editing. It seems to be quite intrusive, and one can frequently see cuts during the interview. The 60 minutes interview had none of it.

Btw., in the trailer there was the piece where she was asked about what was the strangest rumour she has heard about herself. It's not there in the (cut) versions I've seen. Have they edited it out all together?
