It´s a real nice cover by Celine. I am not a huge fan of her but she has an amazing voice and she really can sing live.

Celine does have a beautiful voice but RITD with her accent just isn't right, sorry.

Would you say that if Adele was American?

Celine made it her own; yes it's Adele's song; but the fact it has been touched by so many people. And I bet many people thought Adele was Ameican, by the way she sang, and shocked she was British. Celine is Candian, but is half french, hence the accent.

Yes I would since IMHO it's the French/Canadian accent that I don't think suits the song (actually probably any accent would sound odd to me with this song). What I'm saying is it just sounds weird to me.

Once again, IMHO, I think Celine has done her version but I wouldn't say she's made it her own or in fact owned it in any way.
I've always been keenly aware that Adele is British and that Celine is French/ Canadian and maybe it's because it's late at night here and I've had a long day but I'm just not seeing your point.

So that means the British accent also, guys everyone has different accents, do we have a go at Adele for covering a American song because she doesn't have a American accent? The way it's sung, originality is much more important than accents. I know many thought Adele was American; by the way she sang, but was shocked she was British. In Adeles, you can sometimes hear the accent come out. I don't say I don't like that song because it's sung in that accent. I listen to a lot of Gaelic music, and you can hear the Irish/Scottish/Welsh/Cornish accent come out in a song. Do we have a go at Maire Brennan for her accent on Chicane's Saltwater, because she's Irish? No. It was her voice that made that song popular. When I listen to music, Celtic, Christian, Country, I rather listen and be inspired by the words/emotions then accents. Next thing; you be having a go at Adele for doing a song, where parts is sung in another language. True; she may/may not know any other language, but that's not gonna stop her from trying. Rachel Walker who is a Gaelic singer, and when you hear her sing, it sounds like she Scottish, but was born on the South West UK.

Since I'm still lost, I'd just like to say I tried to be nice and said the Celine has a beautiful voice but ultimately I'm not a fan and I don't like her (IMO) tinny and nasal voice...so yeah, I lied. To simplify my statement even further I don't like Celine's version of RITD as was noted above it's "just ain't right"! And just to stir the pot a little further I wonder if she lip synced RITD like she does for the rest of her concerts:::cough:::
