good idea!!
Ok I dunno about the rest of the world but the footage in Australia has been awful!! They only talk about Australia and how badly they are failing and how well they are doing when to be honest they've been pretty shit. I really couldnt stand it when one of the swimmers got silver and cried in disappointment, she shouldve been proud that she was even there let alone winning medals. I started supporting England coz thats where im officially from, the rowing was fantastic when the girls won!! They really deserved it!! unlike some of the Aussies who deserved a kick up the bum. I did love the gymnastics and the swimming and it was a shame Lauren Mitchell didnt get a medal but hey that happens and i heard USA were amazing so good on them!!

The Canadian coverage wasn't bad, but since we aren't very good at summer games there wasn't a lot to report.. Mostly just the heart-braking disqualification, and how we lost in soccer... I also cheered for team GBR since my country had no hope :P I did really like the closing ceremonies :D (Except for being stuck with a whiny family, but oh well) It was a great finish to the Olympics ^.^

so lucky you got to see the closing ceremony!!! it started at 6am my time and finished at 8:30 so i was at school!! i saw about 5 mins of it this morning and that was it. It's repeated again tonight but not til 9:30, i go to bed early on school nights coz i have to wake up 6. super pointless!! AND i cant record it coz we have really rubbish tv. im not gonna get to see any of it. I wanted to see Jessie J, Ed sheeran and the Spice Girls. well that aint gonna happen. Better get used to it.

Do you think Adele was singing along with the Spice Girls tonight at the closing ceremonies? I think that is the main reason she didn't want to attend because they are Superstars to her and she said she never wants to meet them. At least not for awhile I think. Adele doesn't realize that she is as big of a superstar as them. Hahaha.

MY olympics... Well, I had a great chance of winning the marathon, except for the fact that I didn't start... ;)

Otherwise neither Poland nor Sweden did great. A positive surprise was the Swedish male handball team getting silver, losing with just one point to France in the final. They did great. One unexpected gold in weight lifting for Poland. But also some who were expected to do well, didn't.

Btw., perhaps some of you don't know that the London olympics were the first during which all nations had both genders represented. The last 3 countries which resisted female representations so far were Brunei, Quatar and Saudi Arabia, but this year each country had at least one female representative.

If someone is interested, here is an article on historical and potential positive social impact of Olympics in some regions:
