"New song out at end of year." Bond theme?!

It's the Bond theme, imo. It is for sure not a new song for the third album. This is a stand alone.
XL would not announce a release date for a song off the new album this early, so far away. She probably has a few songs done (she mentioned a while back that she had four or five songs. Does anyone else recall that? She has backtracked off that remark since).
I know she was writing this new song (which she called "a theme" on Jonathon Ross), with Paul Epworth or one of her regulars last year. I forget who she named.

Why would she mention that she needs to write more songs as well? It could be for the album. It was never confirmed that she is doing James Bond. It's just more logical and easier to believe that it is just one song for a movie.

You can have that side of the fence and I'll take the other! This is all speculation so have at it. I'd love it to be a song off the new album because then that means the new album will be released within months of that single (so new album by February or March 2013). Can we all agree that she wouldn't release a new song a year or more before the album it comes from? She is not a single artist (and they don't do that either, unless collaborating).

By the way, the Olympics are doing a James Bond sequence during the opening ceremonies with Daniel Craig (at Buckingham Palace).
Not a bad gig if she can introduce a Bond song in front of half the world! Oh man, we don't have a clue if she is even doing the Bond theme and my mind wonders. Holy sh!t. That would be epic. :)

Adele has revealed that she will release a new song at the end of the year but also confirmed that her third LP won't be seen for "a good two years" .

The comments have lead to fresh speculation that the singer will be providing the next James Bond theme song.

In a recent radio interview, 21 album artist, Adele said, “There will be a new song, probably coming out at the end of the year.”

When asked about the release of her third album, "It won't be for a good two years," adding “If I didn't write my own songs, I'd be out next week with a new album. [But] I have to take time and live a little bit."

The distance between the release of the mystery song and the singer's third LP has rekindled whispers surrounding the title track for Skyfall, the next Bond film. It is rumoured that the Grammy-winning singer is up against Canadian crooner Michael Buble to pen and perform the coveted Bond theme song.

Adele's second album 21 has topped a number historical of best-seller charts and she is the second biggest-selling female act of the 21st century, behind Madonna.

Edit: If Buble gets this it will be the biggest letdown. Come on! This has Adele written all over it! The biggest singer in the entire world at the moment, who happens to be British? She's a national treasure for Gawd's sake! Lol.

Ohmygoodness. For a second there, I nearly forgot that she would be doing the Olympics.

As for the new song, there is a probability that it won't be a Bond theme, but it would be so great if it was. You can consider that movie watched if it was for the James Bond movie. But if it isn't, then we'll get a preview of her next album (iamsoexcited).

I'm with you shades and gb, bond all the way! She will sing it at the Olympics, imo. This sounds like the most logical process especially for her. She wouldn't release a single song from an album that is two years away. My money is on bond theme, definitely!
