You know what I'm talking about, no reason to explain any further.

What I do want to bring up is the possible repurcussions a pregnancy has on her voice.
There are a few examples outthere where singer's voices changed after pregnancy.

Best example of this is Russian operadiva Anna Netrebko.
As she began her career she sang mostly light roles. Simply because this was fitting for her voice, which was gifted with the range of a soprano and the necessary power, a must to preform for a large audiences. After her pregnancy in 2008 she gained a bit of weight and her voice became much fuller, even grander I would say. It paved the way for this at that time already famous soprano for the big roles. Donizetti wrote a couple of beautiful operas which fitted Anna perfectly in her early years. After 2008 she discovered to the delight of directors, conductors and fans she suddenly could also sing the big ones - Anna Bolena for instance.

Let me give you 2 examples. The first is from the Proms in 2007. I choose something light and funny not to scare the modern musiclovers away. So just a laugh, nobody dies - which as you may know in opera is a rare occaission.



The best clip to show the difference in her voice is once again something light. The opera "Don Pasquale" by Donnizetti from the November 2010 performance at the MET in New York. Note the change in timbre and warmth.

It could happen to Adele.
It would be very interesting to see how Adele will fair.

But let that for now be the least of her concerns. First she will focus on delivering the biggest hit of her life. May it be butt ugly, as all new born babies are - but let it be strong, fine and healthy!

I've heard that giving birth can contribute to changes in voice, but never thought of it in relation to Adele. Like you said, at the moment that's probably least of her concerns. And then we will see when we are on the other side! ;) I hope we will not have to wait tooooo long, but will have to resign ourselves to our fate in this regard anyway. If it gets too dramatic then maybe someone will write an opera about it one day? ;)

And besides.. in most operas the lead dies... and alltough one could see the charm of dying young fast and leave a beautiful corpse... somehow I think we should skip this one.

And opera isn't my only taste. Still pretty upset that I had to miss out on Sensation White.
But that was the best way to prepare for a rifle match.

Totally noticed the difference in the womans voice and if you compare Adele's voice from 2008 and 2011 there's a difference in it too.
My concern is not so much her voice, she will always sound great.
But what if she decides to be a stay at home mom and doesn't want to 'work' anymore?

No... That wasn't what I meant. I can refer anybody having the notion of leaving a beautiful corpse to The Lady of the Camellias by Dumas the son. What I meant was more like the drama of all the Daydreamers pulling out their hair out of despair that Adele is not putting out new music. ;)

A man of many interests. Never heard of Sensation White, before you wrote about it. And also checked rifle match to make sure you are not planning a duel... ;) But I did not think that opera is your only interest considering that you are with us on this forum which arguably is not devoted to opera. :)

In short: so much to do to enjoy life but not enough time on my hands.

Work for instance is regarded by me as a very overrated activity, alas.

I am very interested what Adele's next album will be like.
The rubbish relationship is a thing of the past now. It's new found love, upcoming motherhood.
Time for an upbeat record.

With an Adele twist of course. Which means she will definetely will be havin' a piss on something or someone down the line. :)

To be honest: I would be very sad but as a true Daydreamer I will respect her decision. The most important thing is that she and her family are happy and healthy.

I really hope that she likes to come back one day with a new album that will blow all our minds (and I really have no doubt about that if she do so ;-)) and that she will give a lot of concerts too :-).

Not exactly or better let me say half half ;-). I love opera combinate with Heavy Metal. I really love Tarja Turunen (the former singer of Nightwish). She and her concerts are so incredible. She is so natural too. I met her once at the after show party of the Doro Pesch 25th anniversary concert. She was so sweet. We talked a lot (she spoke some sentences in German too), someone made a photo of us, she gave me an autograph and the most important thing she hugged me in the end and gave me a kiss on my cheek . I never expect that and I was totally flashed :-). Sorry for the OT but I like to share this special moment with you . Here are some songs of her:
