I wanted so much for Adele to sing at the Olympics. I am 65 and have never ever followed a singer in my life. Don't get me wrong I listened to my favorites as the years went by like Elvis, LeAnne Rhymes, Patsy Cline, Beattles (my spelling is ridculous) Randy travis, Qwen Stafani, James Blunt (love his first album, after that not so much) Ray Charles, all the songs from the movie Chicago and Walk the Line movies, and lets see and I really loved George Jones cause he could sing jingle bells and make it sound fantastic with his voice sorta like Randy Travis. I do not like classical music and I do not like rap music but the only reason I don't is because no matter how slow I put the tempo I cannot for the life of me understand a word they are saying. I realize a couple of years ago when Chris Rock was talking about rap music it is because the words are made up or words that rappers have made up so unless you know those words your out. Now that girl with the blue and yellow hair I can understand her rap music I think her name is Nikki Monage or something, anyway those cute little girls something Rose and her cousin sing her songs on Ellen. Gosh I have really diversed from the original topic here. Point is I started working at 16 years old and had my first child at 17. I worked for the government for 34 years of my 65 years of life and hated every minute of it. I retired in 2001 and the first 5 years I slept thats it period. I have 4 grown kids ages 49, 45, 37 and 32 and 5 grandchildren and been married 3 times and never had the time to actually follow someones music and their life and comings and goings like interviews, concerts and the like. The first time I heard Adele sing was on the Grammys. I watch the Grammys every year. I gotta tell you I went bizerk. I jumped up and went to the computer and read everything about her and listened to all her songs on the internet and stayed up 14 straight hours. Nuts right? I then got dressed and went to K-mart and asked about all her CDs and the guy said she only has two and a third one is her concert in England. I bought all three came home and blasted my apartment with Adele all day. Finally had to get some sleep but I am beside myself because Adele your music has hit some part of my brain. I feel like I am crazy, really. Your voice is a given, your personality is great and your life issues are not even close to all the tradegies I have had. So, 3 of your songs I exercise to ( I am obese and weigh 323 pounds mostly since I was about 45) 6 songs are just for the car, 4 are ones I listen to when I am going to sleep and "Someone like you" is one of them because the crying makes me very tired aling with 3 other sad sad songs that hit me personally. So now you have an idea why I wanted so much to hear another new song. On the Matt Lauer interview you started to say something about future singing and then stopped and said it was a secret so I really assumed it was the closing of the Olypmics. I also might mention it took me three days to figure out how to blog or twitter or whatever it is I am doing, I never have been facebook, twit or blog. So when I finish this I have not idea where it will go or even if it will be seen. I hope so cause its taken me quite a while to write this book. One last thing on a personal note I know you are in heaven with your pregnancy and your new husband Simon and that you can finally find out that all that chasing was for nought because to be loved by your child and spouse is much better than to chase after love. Please be well and I will be selfishly waiting for some more from you and in the mean time the music I have is worth its weight in gold. Good lucK Adele.
