21 Deluxe Edition

This thread was started (out of boredom mainly) to try and convince Adele (who's against re-releases) and XL and everyone else why 21 should be released as a deluxe set during the holidays. What can I say, this draught is brutal! What's funny is that Adele has said she hates it when artists take the crap songs that didn't make the album and put them on a re-release. Oh man. This is gonna be a tough sell! Lol.

Reasons for a re-release.
1. There are a few songs (5?) in a vault in Malibu that didn't make it onto 21. Just sitting there. Lonely. You know they are better than everyone else's first choice songs.
2. There are really, really good covers that should be heard on a wider scale (Promise This etc).
3. The music industry needs saving again this year.
4. 21 is the only album in the top five albums in UK history not to have at least a boxed set out. (Oasis put a box set out of WTSMG within the first year). The rest have been re-released at least once.
5. 21's place in history. 21 will pass Oasis most likely in next few months, without a re-release. With a re-release it will rocket into top three for sure. This is the digital age. A re-release will not sell after a year or two after era closes.
6. This album should be talked about with Tapestry and Thriller 30 years from now (both have re-releases).

8. It's not mugging off your fans. Its not if there is new music somewhere in there. But who are we kidding? We'd buy it if they simply change the album cover. Lol.
9. If nothing else, box up the dvd of RAH with 21 (with the Bond theme added as a bonus) and sell as a box set for the holidays.
10! 21 would be first album ever in history to be the top seller in the UK and the US two years in a row.
Btw, Emeli Sande just passed 21 for sales in 2012 in UK. She is bringing out a re-release later this year, btw. Uh huh. One year later.

Anyway, what's everyone think? And no, "she is against it" comments. We know that. We are just stating the case for a deluxe edition as a way to pass time during this hiatus.

No matter what, it has to have Bond theme on there for sure. There's my case. What do you guys think? And what songs should be on it?

Me guy also thinks that these 5 or something cookies in Malibou are very important for you. Enough to include them in two identical points (1 and 7). I don't blame you.

Me guy has a practical question. How does it work with copyrights for recordings type Promise This? Isn't that BBC hold them? There are many such recordings, not just audio, also video, that could be in the box if the copyrights rules allow it. The RITD from the Dutch radio?

I wasn't so keen on the idea of a re-release, but I've been reading all your comments on the other thread and after reading this I have to admit you've made up my mind :P Also I'm dying for something new and at this point, I'd be more than happy to buy another copy of 21 even if they only changed the cover, like you said ^^

Oi! Oi! It really would be a great way to tie up the era. And there would be new music to help us get through to the next album. I'm already seeing artwork for the box set. Sigh. :)

Isn't this exactly what Lady Gaga(The Fame Monster) & Katy Perry(Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection) did, re-release their albums with like about 5-7 new songs on it. Same thing right? I don't get it, why not just make a new album then?

If I get shades right, the is the point of the re-release in order to bump the sales of 21. You won't get it the same way if it's a completely new album. Sales would be counted separately.

^^^Exactly why it's done.

It's what Katy does every time she adds a rapper on a single and puts the single out again to break more records.
They do that to increase sales for the original album (or single) and break records. Plus they don't have to start over with a new marketing plan or new tour (unless they want to). It's way cheaper all the way around.

I'm listening to Promise This. "Ballads galore!" That song is brilliant! It needs out there in wider release.
And when I think of those five songs (enough to put in twice) I think of I Found A Boy. Those songs collecting dust are gonna be at least close to that quality. She wouldn't have wasted her time if it was otherwise.
